Im ganzen Google Chrome Rausch ging irgendwie das Update 1.6.6 von Virtualbox unter.

Bei VirtualBox handelt es sich wie bei VMware Fusion oder Parallels um eine Virtualisierungslösung die auch für den Mac verfügbar ist. Gestartet wurde die Entwicklung vom deutschen Unternehme Innotek die kürzlich von Sun aufgekauft wurden.

Der große Unterschied zu den etablierten Lösungen ist wohl die freie Verfügbarkeit von VirtualBox. Dies beschränkt sich leider auf die abgespreckte Version, aber letzlich kann ich dieses Vorgehen absolut verstehen und empfinde es schön dass man im Vergleich zu den Großen im Business an den kleinen User denkt der in vielen Fällen den Funktionsumfang der kommerziellen Lösungen gar nicht benötigt.

Beim aktuellen Release 1.6.6 handelt es sich um ein Maintenance Release, hier mal ein Auszug der Änderungen:

Ich werd mir die Version mal wieder anschauen (trotz VMware Lizenz), einfach um zu wissen ob das Produkt an Stabilität gewonnen hat
