During the development of Tierprogramm (my first AppleScript Application ever) i realized that appleScript is quite powerful for Mac users.  As i handed Tierprogramm to another guy who is trying to get the Leopard only app Tiger-ready i got some free time to do something else …. for sure again with AppleScript to improve the learning curve.

Nachdem ich dieses Wochenende etwas Zeit hatte mich meiner AppleScript-Spiele Idee zu widmen sind die Grundstrukturen gesteckt und die ersten Zeilen Code in XCode getippselt. Das Interface wird mit InterfaceBuilder erstellt, wird aber wohl noch lange im Bastel-Status sein, da mit immer neuen Funktionen auch immer mal wieder umpositioniert werden muss.

Da mich die AppleScript-Laune mal wieder überkommt kam mir die Idee dass ich gerne ein kleines Runden-basiertes Spiel in AppleScript basteln will.

Grundidee:

Angelehnt an dem Klassiker DopeWars, jedoch mit mehr Funktionalität. Bin aktuell noch am Ideen sammeln und Grundfunktionen testen.

Aufruf:

Sollte jmd Lust haben sich an einer zwangfreien Bastelei mit XCode, Interface Builder & AppleScript zu beteiligen ist jetzt genau der richtige Zeitpunkt. Grosse Vorkenntnisse sind nicht notwendig, da ich selber auch noch aktiv am lernen bin =)

Einfach melden, bin offen für reine Ideen wie praktisches mitscripten

Bin gerade beim stöbern in der MacWelt (schande schande ich weiss, aber liegt auf der Arbeit immer rum) darauf gestoßen dass es seit geraumer Zeit Version 0.5 von Super Tux Kart gibt.

Das Spiel liegt sowohl für Windows, Linux als auch Mac zum freien Download bei Sourceforge bereit.

Maybe some of you have noticed those small physics-games available in the web like Crayon Physics or similar.

Friend of mine forwarded another one to me called: Phun

Quote / about Phun:

Phun is a Master of Science Thesis by Computing Science student Emil Ernerfeldt for supervisor Kenneth Bodin at VRLab, Umeå University, Sweden. The solver is based on work by Claude Lacoursière

Phun is meant to be a playground where people can be creative. It can also be used as an educational tool to learn about physics concepts such as restitution and friction.

Phun was coded in C++ using OpenGL, GLEW, SDL (for window management), SDL_image (for reading images) and boost, including boost_filesystem. Everything was coded by Emil Ernerfeldt, including the physics engine and user interface.

As i was really impressed by Crayon Physics and even more by the video for Crayon Physics Deluxe (in development) i made my first little test-map for that game. It was a quick work (about 10 minutes after realizing how easy the editor works) including a handmade background.
