Mac ::: Burn ISO using Disk Utility
Posted by: fidel in mac, tags: 10.4, 10.5, burn, burn iso's using Disk Utility, disk utility, iso, utilitiesIt seems to be a repeating question in Mac OS X related irc-channels, so let’s write the solution down once again.
Mac OS X has several methods to burn files. Unfortunally there is no pre-installed all-in-one burning solution so many users end up using free burn-apps like Burn or commercial apps like Toast. In general using a specific burn-app makes sense…but maybe the following solution is enough for you.
Now lets see how you can burn ISO’s using Disk Utility
- Insert a blank disc.
- Start Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app)
- From the File menu, choose “Open Disk Image” and select the ISO you want to burn
- In the list of volumes, you will now see an item representing the ISO file. Select it.
- Click the Burn button and follow the instructions.
