A short list of Plugins i don’t want to miss on my boxes while using FireFox 3.
- AdBlock Plus - Most important Plugin ever for me. It blocks ads, based on a managed list and gives the user the option to add additional content to be blocked. I do sync with Cedric’s list which served me great the last 3 years
- CustomizeGoogle - Gives you the option to customize your google search results. In my case i get links to other search-engines, but the plugin offers more options then just that.
- FastDial - Fast access to your favorit pages through thumbnails
- Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer - Sync your browser favorits over the net. You need a free foxmarks account to use that
- (Mac) FireFox-Mac-PDF - Plugin displays PDF inside FireFox
Yeah, its a short list as i dislike having a list of 20 or 30 plugins in my FireFox installations. But those 5 plugins do offer the basic function i need in my daily working day.

Hooray.
I had a horrible bug/problem for several month now with firefox and flash.
embedded flash movies (i.e. from Youtube) were only shown if i almost scolled away from them. Seemed like the scroll-out action reanimated the flash-content each time.
Well as i haven’t found a solution for this issue i personally blamed Adobe for it…..but… i was WRONG.
Seems like this is a known issue of Adblock (Version 0.7.5.1 )
There is really no need to de-activate AdBlock (way to important for me).
Solution (at least for me and many others):
- Open Firefox
- Enter: about:config in the addressbar
- Use the filterlist to find this entry: extensions.adblockplus.frameobjects and change it to false
- Restart Firefox
Enjoy flash movies like you never did before hehe.
The article above list some other ideas, so if you still have the problem continue reading

A known problem for fireFox users:
- You want to search a foreign google page, but you always get redirected to your local google version
Example here:
- Local google = google.de
- Target google = google.com
One of many possible solutions i found in the web:
- Open FireFox
- Enter: “about:config” in the address bar
- Select a random entry and right-click it
- Select “New” -> “String”
- Enter: “keyword.URL”
- Enter: “http://www.google.com/search?q=”
- Restart Firefox
Result is as follows:
- If you Enter the searchphrase in the Firefox search-engine-field you will goto your local google
- If you enter your searchphrase in Firefoxs address bar and press enter you will visit google.com
good & easy hack i think.
Greetings

Just a short listing about web-browsers i found for OSX.
I havent tested all of them, but from my point of view
- Firefox is just great and my main browser, cause of the big amount of extensions / plugins and much more.
- Shirra has some good features like expose like view but was not that stable while my testing-time.
- OmniWeb - small and good browser
- Camino - a really great browser
- Safari - ugly as hell, but i guess you already know that
Finally my personal two favorites: camino and firefox
