Ever wanted another look for your OS X Installation ?

Today i found Nocturne which is developed by the dev’s of Quicksilver and Visor.

Well what is its basic function ?

Nocturne is (yet another) simple app for switching a computer to night vision mode. It does, however, add a few things:

Features

  • Color correction in inverted and monochrome modes - you can correct hues when inverted and won’t lose a channel when using tinted monochrome.
  • Window shadow toggling - if glowing windows aren’t your thing.
  • Background removal - hide the desktop picture so you don’t see an inverted version.

A preview how it CAN look.

You can find some user comments about Nocturne here.

I have tested the application on my Leopard installation (10.5.1). After launching Nocturne you have an additional entry in your menu-bar which let you access the preferences and the toggle-function itself.

I like the idea….but the only real deal it offers for my is a quick toggle to black & white mode…..but i guess thats user-specific, so take a look on it yourself.
